What has happened to our world? Our communities are terrified. Our children are normalizing expectations of a society built on fear and aggression. Everything in America, everything in the world, has become war. Our souls and psyche have been damaged and we have lost trust in our shared humanity. We are grieving the strife and pain of divides deepened by demagoguery.
Are you interested in a space that fosters dialogue through musical exchange and reflection to more deeply consider and respond to these challenges? Do you want to take part in an artistic project to express yourself in response to these intersecting global and personal conflicts?
Led by Dr. André de Quadros & Rahib Haddad, Common Ground Voices in times of war seeks to bring together vocal artists for a weekend residency to share, sing, and release our collective grief by engaging in the difficult work of telling our stories with honesty, compassion, and vulnerability. We aim to generate meaningful collaboration through music as a form of dialogue on our shared human values and aspirations as an exercise of non-violence.
Desired Qualifications
Cost
If you are selected to participate, this program will require a $25 participation fee to offset venue, music, and other operational costs. Travel to Boston, housing, and meals are at the expense of the participant. Some homestays may be available upon request.
